Our current procedure for collecting specific folders across a client's network is to use a drag-and-drop with EnCase.  We have had several problems with this procedure.  1. When a file is in use, EnCase will not collect it.  2. If the path is too long, an error message is generated and again, EnCase will not collect the file/folder

My question is this, by using Prodiscover and the remote agent, can we avoid these issues?

    Thank you

    Steve,

Thanks for posting to the forums. With regards to open or in use files; yes it is possible to copy them off of the remote system. If a path to a particular file is too long (I believe Windows limits to the path to 135 characters) ProDiscover will not allow a batch copy off of the remote system. However, you can copy the files individually.

Feel free to contact me at: support AT techpathways DOT com if you would like to discuss this further.

    Regards,

    Alex
