    HI All,

I wanted to take a moment and update everyone on some of our upcoming features. The next release will essentially be a search enhancement release. Almost 10 years ago when we entered into this business raw searches were quite effective due to the relatively small hard drives available to the average workstation. As storage becomes more abundant, raw searches are not always the best approach. Because of this we will are implementing indexed based search to complement our current comprehensive raw search capabilities. Our target release is the end of August to coincide with the 2009 HTCIA conference in Lake Tahoe California/Nevada.  We are making very good progress and hope to meet the target release date. We are implementing the CLucene library for our indexed search capabilities. Information on CLucene can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/clucene/

In addition to the indexed based search we will be adding regular expression capabilities to our raw search. I know of several people who have really wanted this feature set for a while now.

Both regular expression and indexed search are already implemented on internal Alpha builds and progressing well. In addition to the search enhancements and a few bug fixes we will also be adding the ability to detect and log attached Tableau write blockers. The ability to recognize additional hardware write blockers is sure to follow.
