  • Booting problem after using ProDiscover Basic 4.8a

After I opened an image file and restored it to a USB thumb drive, my XP (SP3) won't boot again.
I can still boot from a live CD and access to the C: drive. I did not change any boot information or partition.
    Can this be possible?

    Dinga,

The only way you could have caused damage to the C:\ Partition of your hard drive is if you tried to restore the image to the same physical disk that contained your C:\ partition and/or boot sector. You would have received several warnings before restoring your image to the physical disk. ProDiscover will allow you to restore to physical disk 0 since it may not be the boot disk.
BTW the current version of ProDiscover available on our web site is 6.0. You can find ProDiscover basic edition version 6 in the resources section of the web site and any of the pay versions will be available in the customers section after your logon.
