  • Does ProDiscover recognize CD/DVDs in the drive?

We have tried to create a process where we write only files that are new (or changed) when compared to our companies base computer image.  We was going to write these files to a CD/DVD and give to our legal team to search against (using ProDiscover).  When I went to test this process I realized that ProDiscover wasn’t “seeing” the CD.  I also tried putting the CD in an external drive, but it still wasn’t recognized.  Shouldn’t ProDiscover be able to see these CD/DVD drives if a disc is inside them?

    kmcconnell,

You will need to write the files to a physical non-optical disk, then transfer the file to any optical storage afterwards. If individual file mac times are an issue, then extract to an LFC file.

Optical storage and file system formats are on our list of new features for the comming year.

    Regards,
    Chris

Will being able to investigate optical drives (CDs/DVDs) be in the release coming out in the first quarter?

I’m not sure if it will make it in the first quarter. It’s very hard to predict specific time frames in software development. The feature set is slated in the overall group for this year.
